CANDABA, Pampanga—A Pampanga-based Community Scouting Unit plans to launch a 20-day service project to benefit a local Aeta community in Mabalacat City, Pampanga.

Lualu Rover Circle 9—a group of young adults who are committed to providing sustainable service projects to communities, especially those in needy sectors as anchored from its name Lualu, meaning ‘to defend the defenseless and the destitute’—is conducting a fund-raising activity for their project, the 4K[RE]solution.

4K[RE]solution is a multi-project initiative of the Lualu Rover Circle 9 with the Aetas of Sitio Haduan as its beneficiaries.

According to the circle manager, John Nogoy, it aims to improve the quality of living of the residents and to give them the opportunity, especially the young Aetas, to learn life skills that can be beneficial to their future endeavors or career.

“It envisions communities–especially indigenous people communities–having better access to quality education, a healthcare system, and environmental protection to promote peace,” Nogoy said in an interview.

The project will provide services that will benefit the community in specific areas like education and life skills, health and well-being, and environment and sustainability. Nogoy also mentioned that they can not do this project alone without the help of other people.

“We expect to have 25 Scouts [to volunteer] per day for 20 days,” he said.

The 4K[RE]solution is dedicated to helping the Aeta community chosen by the group. He said that every help they provide will put a smile on their faces and change the lives of their beneficiaries.

“We want them to have the resources and skill they will need when their time for opportunity comes,” he said.

Scout Leader Nogoy also called for help in terms of human power and finance for them to realize this project.

“Help us, help others. Be a partner of service,” he said.

They are soliciting financial help through different channels. Interested donors may send donations through GCash with account number 0935 078 1195 or through the Scout Donation Platform—a fund-raising platform by the World Organization of the Scout Movement.

The Lualu Rover Circle 9 was founded in 2020 and aims to develop the skills of Young Adults in Pampanga towards character development, to become career-ready and nation-builders of tomorrow.
