BSP Elects 2021 Scout Representatives

After two years, new Regional Scout Representatives for Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao were elected.

The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) conducts a Scout Youth Forum every year as part of its Youth Development Program. It aims to meet the need for youth participation in the decision-making process of the organization.

The 2021 National Scout Youth Forum stood out among the others since it was the first-ever Scout Youth Forum held 100% online in the history of this event. The successful 2021 NSYF proved the Scout’s resiliency and quality of the BSP training the youth receives. The pandemic and technology limitations did not stop hundreds of National Scout Representative aspirants from pursuing their dreams.

Three Scout Youth Representatives emerged and hailed as the Regional Scout Representatives (also known as NSR) for Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. They were Scouts Kurt James Quiambao from Makati City Council, Mary Seantheim Chillin Patnubay from Aklan Council, and Scout Lian Jon Santos from Agusan del Norte Council respectively.

They got elected during the 2021 Virtual National Scout Youth Forums held separately via Zoom on April 17-19 (Luzon), April 20-22 ( Visayas), and April 26-28 (Mindanao). From this day on, these Youth Representatives shall be the voice of their respective regions. They will be representing the Scout membership to BSP’s highest policy-making body – the National Executive Board – for a term of one (1) year.
