TARLAC CITY, Philippines— Eagle Scout Dianne Eden Villasis is the Regional Youth Representatives (RYR) Chairperson for the Asia-Pacific Region (APR) to the World Organization of the Scout Movement, elected during the conduct of the 10th APR Scout Youth Forum on February 9-13, 2022.

Villasis is the Boy Scouts of the Philippines’ bet in the APR-SYF. She was hailed as the newly-elected Regional Youth Representative Chairman on the last day of the APR-SYF and will be serving her term from 2022-2025.

Villasis is among the seven Scouts elected during the SYF. The elected Scouts and their National Scout Organizations are as follows:

  • Dianne Eden Villasis, Boy Scouts of the Philippines (Chairperson)
  • Mohamed Iujaaz Yazeed, Scout Association of Maldives (Youth Engagement)
  • Supreeth Balaji, The Bharat Scouts and Guides (Educational Methods)
  • Humayrah Ibnat Badhon, Bangladesh Scouts Association (Diversity and Inclusion)
  • Zairin Adam Bin Adbul Aziz, Persekutuan Pengkap Malaysia (Social Impact)
  • Ng Koot-Tat Addison, Scout Association of Hong Kong (Communications and External Relations)
  • Jeon Garam, Korea Scouts Association (Governance)

“Today, I offer myself for the greater call for service,” Villasis said as she thanked the APR and congratulated her fellow electorates. As chairperson of the APR-RYR, she will be sitting as a member of the Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Committee.

The SYF also recommended a total of 13 Scouts to participate in the 27th APR Scout Conference to be held on February 15-21, 2022.
