Scouts celebrate Rizal Day around the country

Rizal Day was celebrated around the Philippines with different units of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines leading and joining the activity.

Rizal Day commemorates the death and heroism of Dr. Jose Rizal—one of the Filipino heroes that sparked the uprising against the Spanish colonizers. It is celebrated every 30th of December, as the execution date of Rizal in 1986 at Bagumbayan. It is now known as Luneta Park, in Manila.

The Rover Circles United Circle 08 of BSP Cabanatuan City Council. Represented by 17 rover scouts, who ushered at Luneta Park, Ermita, Manila. They are the Chartering Chapter of KABATAAN PANGARAP NI RIZAL (KAPARIZ)—the official Youth arm of the Knights of Rizal.

Scout Oscar M. Alcaraz Community Scout 425 (SOMACOMSCO 425) was also present in Luneta Park.

BSP Lipa City Council at Lipa City Plaza Independencia, 7:00 o’clock in the morning.

Coro-coro, a barangay-based Scouting Unit, in Albay. In the said event ES Jan Khim Gamora, WBH, Director for Scouting Affairs of AMAPS, served as the Guest of honor. They were also joined by the local Sangguniang Kabataan, Sangguniang Barangay, and Barangay Tanod.

San Pablo City Council also joined the said commemoration hosted by the Office of City Tourism.

Scouts from Outfit 211 and 722 of Negros Occidental Council, in Cadiz City.

Meanwhile, in Mindanao, Outfit 058 of Bukidnon Council joined in remembering the legacy of Jose Rizal.
