Palaweño Scouts aids ST Odette victims in Puerto Princesa City, Northern Palawan

Volunteers from Agila Palawan, and BSP-PPC Council helped in relief and clearing operations in parts of Palawan after the destruction left by ST Odette.

Various scouting organizations in Palawan took action in the wake of Super Typhoon Odette, December 17, 2021. They are the Scouts from Agila Palawan, Eagle Scouts Organization of the Philippines—Palawan Puerto Prinsesa City Chapter, and BSP Puerto Prinsesa City Council.


Different teams of scouts took initiative and helped in the ongoing relief operations. It was soon after the cellular connectivity was re-established in the city.


Scout volunteers joined in the repacking of goods in Puerto Prinsesa City Coliseum, on December 22-23, 2021. The Puerto Prinsesa City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) spearheaded the activity.


Another team of Scout volunteers also helped in the clearing operations at Tagburos Elementary School, on December 23, 2021. The school was covered with mud and suffered damages during the onslaught of the typhoon. Another group of Scouts also helped in the repacking of relief goods. It was held at the Main Campus Gymnasium of Palawan State University, on December 27, 2021.


As of January 3, Agila Palawan raised PHP 33,791.00 through its fundraiser campaign. Check out their donation drive here.

The organization also donated some construction materials and relief packs to Scouts and Scout Leaders.
This includes the following:


▪︎ A Scout from Barangay Bancao-Bancao, Puerto Princesa City
▪︎ A Scouter from San Vicente, Palawan
▪︎ A Scouter from Roxas, Palawan


The municipality of Roxas Palawan also received relief packages from Agila Palawan.


The first wave was the 80 relief packages, and another two waves from December 26- 27, respectively.
Aside from that, BSP Palawan Puerto Princesa City Council conducted “Oplan Bayanihan”.


Oplan Bayanihan was a relief operation in Barangay Caruray, San Vicente, Palawan. It was in partnership with BSP-National Capital Region, Agila Palawan, and Kiwanis International.


Agila Palawan is still accepting all kinds of donations. The drop-off point for In-kind donations is in BSP-Palawan Puerto Princesa City Council. It was in Rafols Road, Sta.
